Jordan Rohan – Founder, Clearmeadow Partner
Jordan Rohan is a Founder and Partner of Clearmeadow Partners. Jordan is the former Managing Director and Internet Analyst at RBC Capital Markets. The Wall Street Journal acknowledged Jordan’s work in the Advertising & Publishing sectors, awarding him “The Best of the Street” in 2005 and 2007. He has been covering the media, online media, search and e-commerce sectors since 1999, and has developed an in depth understanding of the convergence of media and technology, and a reputation for bold, non-consensus research calls. Jordan's experience also includes research analyst positions with Soundview Technology Group, SG Cowen, and UBS Securities, where he was often the top-ranked analyst at the respective firms. Jordan also held business development and financial analyst positions with the Walt Disney Company and Intel Corporation. Jordan is a frequent speaker at digital advertising, lead generation and internet search conferences.
Jordan earned a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, as well as an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
Michael J. Kelly – Advisor, Clearmeadow Partners
Mike Kelly is an Advisor and Partner of Clearmeadow Partners. Mike is the former president of AOL Media Networks, where he oversaw AOL's global advertising business. Michael is credited with overseeing the transformation of AOL’s online media business including the acquisition of Advertising.com. Prior to joining AOL, Kelly was President, Global Marketing at Time Warner. He held senior positions at Fortune magazine and was the Publisher of Entertainment Weekly. Mr. Kelly was also the founder and CEO of American Town Network (ATN), an interactive media company that creates local social networks in thousands of towns.
Mike is on the Board of Advisors to Veronis Suhler Stevenson, a leading private equity firm that invests in the media, information and education industries. Mike is the non-executive Chairman of Eyeblaster, a leading independent global provider of online campaign management solutions and services to advertising agencies and advertisers. Mike has served on the boards of the American Advertising Federation, The Advertising Council and Professionals in Advertising (PAC). He is also a founder of The Kelly Gang, a 501c3 organization that benefits grass roots charities. Mike is a frequent speaker at digital advertising conferences.
Mike is a Chicago native and earned a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois.
Richard Chang – Founder, Clearmeadow Partners
Richard Chang is a Founder and Partner of Clearmeadow Partners. Richard is the Managing Partner of Georgian Pine Management, investing primarily in emerging growth companies such as BitAuto, Blip.tv, and Quantcast. He has also been an active independent advisor to financial institutions and growth companies often playing a key role in their early development. He co-founded and was Non-Executive Chairman of Shine Media Acquisition, a US-listed Special Purpose Acquisition Company that had announced the acquisition of one of China’s largest privately held forestry and green resource companies. Richard is on the board of advisors of two Chinese Venture Capital Funds: Gobi Partners, exclusively focused on digital media and backed by Disney, McGraw-Hill, IBM, Nokia and NTT Docomo; and Infotech Pacific Ventures, the venture capital affiliate of China’s Ministry of Information Industry (MII). Richard served as a General Partner of the San Francisco based fund Bowman Capital Management, a $6 Billion Tiger Cub that specialized in technology investments. Richard split his time between the firm’s public hedge funds and private equity group. He worked at Bowman from 1999-2003 joining as a co-founder of the firm’s two Private Equity funds where he led or co-led growth capital investments in over 20 companies including: Alphablox (Acquired by IBM), Atheros (IPO Nasdaq: ATHR), Employease (Acquired by ADP), Epinions (IPO Nasdaq: SHOP, Acquired by eBAY), and TellMe Networks (Acquired by MSFT). On the public hedge fund side he was responsible for overseeing public long/short investments in Asia primarily in Semiconductors and Hardware and opened an office in Taiwan in 2001. Prior to Bowman, Richard spearheaded business development in Asia for Sony Pictures where he played a key role in launching Columbia Pictures Asia, the first Hollywood film studio to produce Mandarin Language Films. Richard also served as CFO of SuperTV, Sony's Taiwanese Cable Channel. Richard began his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Lazard Freres where he focused on media. Richard holds an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Michael Purcell – Clearmeadow Partners
Michael Purcell joined Clearmeadow Partners in May of 2008. Michael is a former analyst for hedge funds Balyasny Asset Management and The BBT Fund, covering the media, communications and internet sectors. Michael was an Associate Analyst supporting Jordan Rohan at Soundview Technology Group where he was ranked the top associate in equity research. Michael also worked for Omnicom’s venture capital group analyzing business plans for digital marketing services companies seeking investment capital. Prior to receiving his MBA, Michael was a sales executive for TIME Magazine and Links Magazine.
Michael earned a Bachelors degree in History from the University of Colorado as well as an MBA in Finance and Accounting from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
